A tragic jet ski crash on Sydney’s Georges River has left one teenager dead and another seriously injured.
Emergency services rushed to the scene near Tom Uglys Bridge at Sylvania just after 6pm on Tuesday, 22 July, following reports of people in the water.
Police from Sutherland Shire Command were informed that a jet ski had possibly collided, throwing its riders into the river.
A 15-year-old boy was pulled from the water but tragically could not be revived.
A 14-year-old boy suffered a severed arm in the crash. He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being transported to Sydney Children’s Hospital in serious condition.
A crime scene has been established as investigators work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
