A routine Friday afternoon turned into a life-or-death emergency at Yarramalong after a man in his 30s was bitten by a brown snake while mowing his lawn.
Just after 2.15pm on Friday, 2 January, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was urgently tasked by NSW Ambulance to a rural property following reports of a serious snake bite.
NSW Ambulance paramedics and the helicopter’s critical care medical team worked swiftly at the scene, stabilising the man before he was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital.
He remains in a stable condition as doctors monitor him following the highly venomous bite.
Authorities are reminding residents to remain vigilant around long grass and rural properties, with snake activity increasing during warm summer conditions. 🐍🚁
