BUS DRIVERS SAY IT’S TOO DANGEROUS TO STOP AT RUTHERFORD SHOPPING CENTER AFTER 5PM

Bus drivers will no longer stop at Rutherford Shopping center after 5pm saying it’s just too dangerous for the drivers.

Mick Forbes from the TWU told Tripple M that Bus drivers have been robbed, spat on and threatened and intimidated.

As a result from of the level of youth violence mainly from teenagers aged 12 to 17, bus drivers won’t be stopping at the shopping center after 5pm until further notice.

Local Councilor Mitchell Griffin is frustrated will local council who are yet to roll out a trail of CCTV Cameras in the Maitland area.

“We are still waiting on council to come back with a decision on whether to proceed with a trial of CCTV.

This is despite numerous companies with a successful track record in the industry offering to provide a free trial to council on a number of occasions over this period.” Said Councillor Mitchell Griffin
