Central Coast: 18-Year-Old P1 Driver Loses Licence for Speeding
On Sunday, 22 September 2024, at approximately 4:45 PM, Brisbane Water Highway Patrol officers were conducting speed enforcement along the Central Coast Highway in Wamberal when they clocked an 18-year-old Provisional 1 (P1) driver speeding at 110 km/h in a 60 km/h zone.
The young driver, behind the wheel of a silver Mazda 3, was immediately stopped by police. He was issued a penalty notice for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45 km/h. The fine amounts to $2,959, accompanied by a loss of 6 demerit points.
As a result, his licence was instantly suspended and confiscated for a period of six months.
