A Cessnock man has been arrested on a series of serious domestic-violence-related offences as part of a major four-day State-wide police crackdown targeting high-risk offenders.
About 11.40am on Wednesday 12 November 2025, officers from the Domestic Violence High Risk Offenders Team (DVHROT) attended a home in Cessnock, where they arrested a 52-year-old man wanted on an outstanding warrant for 15 domestic-violence offences.
During the arrest, police allegedly located methamphetamine, counterfeit $50 notes, and a driver’s licence in another person’s name inside the home.
The man was taken to Cessnock Police Station before facing Bail Court on Thursday 13 November 2025.
The arrest formed part of Operation Amarok XII, a targeted domestic-violence operation that ran from 12–15 November across NSW. In total, the operation resulted in 752 people charged, 1,629 offences, and 275 arrest warrants executed.
Police say the Cessnock arrest highlights the ongoing focus on removing high-risk DV offenders from the community. Officers conducted tens of thousands of compliance checks during the blitz, uncovering hundreds of breaches of protection orders.
Authorities are urging anyone experiencing or witnessing domestic violence in the Cessnock region to seek help immediately by calling 000, contacting their local police station, or reaching out to support services such as 1800 RESPECT.
