Cessnock, NSW – On Monday, December 4th, 2023, at 9:10 AM, officers from the Hunter Valley Highway Patrol stopped a Mitsubishi Outlander driven by a 32-year-old woman.
Upon checking her license, the officers discovered that she was the holder of a New South Wales class C learner license but was not supervised by an authorized person at the time of the stop.
A search of the vehicle and the driver resulted in the discovery of several clear resealable bags containing a crystal substance and an implement used for smoking illegal drugs.
Furthermore, it was revealed that the woman was currently on bail for previous drug-related offenses. She was arrested and taken to Cessnock Police Station, where she was charged with possessing a prohibited drug and breach of bail. She will appear at Kurri Kurri Local Court to face the drug possession charge.
Her driver’s license was suspended for three months, and she was issued a penalty notice of $987 for driving as a learner without the supervision of a licensed driver.
