Change.org petition calls for justice for teacher involved in physical altercation with students

Maitland Grossmann High School in New South Wales, Australia, is currently dealing with the aftermath of an incident in which a teacher, Mr. Kable, was charged with common assault following a physical altercation with a group of students in his classroom. However, despite the charges, Mr. Kable has received support from some members of the local community.

A Change.org petition titled “Justice for Mr. Kable” has been created, and as of the latest count, has been signed by over 1,600 individuals. The petition is calling for the charges to be dropped and for Mr. Kable to be reinstated as a teacher at the school.

Loretta Matthews, whose mother is also a teacher, spoke out about the incident, saying, “My mother’s a teacher and the violence of these kids is disgusting. Teachers are crying every day because kids say they will kill them and throw chairs. I feel sorry for him.”

While some members of the community have voiced their support for Mr. Kable, it is important to note that not everyone agrees with the sentiment. The incident has sparked a debate about the use of force in schools and the responsibilities of teachers when faced with unruly students.

At this time, Mr Kable has been charged with common assault and awaiting his day in court. However, the incident has highlighted the challenges that educators face in maintaining discipline and creating a safe learning environment for their students. It is a reminder that support and resources are needed to help teachers navigate these difficult situations.
