A dramatic incident has unfolded at Dora Creek this evening after both a passenger train and a freight train collided with a fallen tree on the tracks — at the same time.
Emergency services responded swiftly, and 60 passengers were safely evacuated from the passenger train. Fortunately, no major injuries have been reported.
Train services are currently suspended between Dora Creek and Fassifern, with buses replacing trains in the affected area.
Sydney Trains has confirmed it is working to organize a replacement train for tomorrow, but commuters north of Wyong should expect significant delays as the situation is resolved.
