Civilian NSW Police Employee Fined for Drink Driving on Central Coast

A civilian employee of the NSW Police Force has been fined and had his licence suspended after allegedly returning a low-range drink driving reading during roadside testing on the Central Coast.

About 9.50am on Friday, May 8, officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Highway Patrol were conducting stationary random breath testing on the Central Coast Highway at Bateau Bay when they stopped a grey Volkswagen hatchback.

Police allege the 42-year-old male driver returned a positive roadside breath test and was arrested before being taken to The Entrance Police Station for secondary testing.

The man allegedly recorded a breath analysis reading of 0.050.

The unsworn police employee was issued a Traffic Infringement Notice for driving with low-range PCA (prescribed concentration of alcohol).

His driver’s licence was suspended for three months.
