Federal MP Dan Repacholi turned heads this morning at the Lake Macquarie West Wallsend Swim Centre, where he hosted an impromptu mobile office session. Sporting black-and-white striped swimming shorts (or were they maroon and white?), Repacholi looked every bit the part of a relaxed, approachable politician ready to make waves—both in the pool and in politics.
The former Olympian had locals talking about everything from road upgrades to pool lane etiquette, all while keeping the mood light. While some residents came for serious discussions, others couldn’t help but crack a smile at Repacholi’s stylish swimwear, with many relieved he left the budgie smugglers at home.
Repacholi later took to Facebook to share his thoughts on the unconventional setting:
“Not my normal mobile office site, but when the locals want to have a chat about local issues, who am I to say no. From road upgrades to pool lane etiquette, I’m here for it all.”
Whether it’s policy or poolside banter, Repacholi proved he’s ready to dive into any topic, keeping things cool and casual while connecting with his community.
