Authorities are on high alert as Hussein Chamas, 35, remains at large after using falsified bail documents to leave a rehabilitation centre in Swan Bay, NSW, despite being under strict court orders.
Chamas, who faces drug trafficking and firearms charges as part of the AFP’s Operation Ironside, was granted bail under a $3 million bond. The false documents sent to the rehab facility allowed him to leave the centre and vanish, despite being required to stay there. He was last seen leaving on January 8, 2025.
“Chamas poses a significant risk, and we need to locate him as soon as possible,” an AFP spokesperson stated.
