Last night in Cardiff, a 40-year-old man faces multiple charges following an alleged assault spree at a local restaurant.
The incident unfolded around 7:25 pm on Saturday, March 16, 2024, inside the Main Road establishment. Initial reports suggest a 58-year-old man was assaulted within the premises.
Simultaneously, a 46-year-old woman purportedly fell victim to an assault by a 68-year-old female patron. When another diner tried to intervene, he allegedly became entangled in a physical altercation, resulting in further assault.
Law enforcement swiftly responded, but encountered resistance during the arrest. The suspect allegedly assaulted a male police officer and, shockingly, hurled a blood-soaked shirt at a female officer.
The accused now faces a litany of charges including assault causing actual bodily harm, assaulting a police officer in the line of duty, affray, property damage, and offensive language.
Despite the severity of the charges, the individual has been granted conditional bail. They are scheduled to appear before the Toronto Local Court on March 26, 2024.
Meanwhile, authorities anticipate charging the 68-year-old female involved with common assault and affray through a Future Court Attendance Notice.
