A woman has died in hospital following a serious two-vehicle crash on the Mid North Coast earlier this month.
Emergency services were called to King Creek Road at King Creek, about 3.5km south of Wauchope, at around 10.20am on Saturday 9 May 2026, after reports a Mazda utility and an MG sedan had collided near the Oxley Highway exit.
Police from the Mid North Coast Police District attended and found the driver of the MG, a 37-year-old woman, had been seriously injured. She was freed from the vehicle and treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for head and facial injuries.
She was taken to Port Macquarie Hospital before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the Mazda, a 32-year-old woman, was also taken to Port Macquarie Hospital with serious but stable injuries.
A crime scene was established and the Crash Investigation Unit assisted police with inquiries into the circumstances of the collision.
Police were later informed on Friday 15 May 2026 that the 37-year-old woman had died in hospital.
A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
