A 23-year-old man has tragically died following a workplace accident at East Gosford on the Central Coast this morning.
Emergency services were called to a worksite on Wharf Street around 10:40am after reports a worker had been seriously injured.
Police from the Brisbane Water District were told the man was impaled after falling onto reinforcing bar. NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man at the scene before transporting him to Gosford Hospital, where he later died.
A crime scene has been established, and an investigation into the incident is underway. SafeWork NSW has been notified, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
