A five week old baby has been mauled to death on the Central Coast this morning. Emergency services were called to the scene around 2:20am to a house on Jeff Close in Kariong, west of Gosford.
NSW POLICE were first on the scene and attempted to revive the baby until paramedics arrived a short time later. The new born baby could not be revived and died at the scene.
The dog has been secured by authorities but they have not released details of breed of dog.
NSW Police will release more details later today but are not treating the death as suspicious.
