A coordinated flood rescue operation at Young’s Road, Limpinwood, has been temporarily suspended after crews located a vehicle swept away by flash floodwaters but were unable to find its driver.
On Saturday evening, 18 January 2025, the Tweed District Rescue Squad – VRA Rescue NSW responded to reports of a water rescue after a vehicle was caught in rising floodwaters on a nearby causeway. Upon arrival, rescuers found the vehicle but could not locate the driver. A drone was deployed to assist in the search, but efforts to locate the missing person were unsuccessful.
The search was suspended overnight and resumed early this morning, Sunday, 19 January 2025, at 6:30 AM.
