On Tuesday afternoon, authorities discovered a body near the Belmont Wetlands, which is believed to be that of John Davidson, a man who had been reported missing. John, a 72-year-old individual with dementia, had disappeared from his residence in Mount Hutton on November 7. Following his disappearance, an extensive search involving multiple agencies was conducted on both land and water.
After a week of searching, the focus of the investigation shifted to the Fernleigh Track in Belmont, as surveillance footage had captured a man believed to be John heading in that direction. Recently, the New South Wales (NSW) Police received confirmation that a member of the public, who was bush-walking along the Karloo Fire Trail near the Fernleigh Track on Saturday, discovered human remains and personal belongings.
