A routine welfare check on Ruby Street, Bellbird, turned into a police chase on Wednesday morning.
Around 8:30 am, officers approached a man in a hatchback, who allegedly sped away. The vehicle was later spotted on Oakey Creek Road, Pokolbin, where the man ran from police but was quickly caught.
A search allegedly found knuckle dusters, a folding knife, 25 grams of methamphetamine, and cash.
The 28-year-old now faces nine charges, including supplying drugs, using a prohibited weapon, driving while disqualified, and resisting police. He was refused bail and will appear at Cessnock Local Court on 5 November.
