Today marks three years since the tragic Greta bus crash that claimed the lives of several people and left a lasting impact on communities across the Hunter.
Federal Member for Hunter, Dan Repacholi, said the anniversary is a time to remember those who lost their lives, those who were injured, and the first responders who faced unimaginable circumstances on the night of the tragedy.
Repacholi revealed he laid a private floral tribute yesterday on behalf of the people of the Hunter electorate to honour the victims and acknowledge those who continue to carry the emotional weight of the disaster.
He said the effects of the crash are still being felt throughout the community, noting that anniversaries can be particularly difficult for families and friends affected by the tragedy.
The MP also encouraged anyone struggling with grief or emotional distress to seek support, reminding the community that help is available and that reaching out is a sign of strength.
He urged residents to look after themselves, check in on loved ones, and support one another as the Hunter reflects on one of the region’s darkest days.
