A Hunter mum and local business owner has been praised after completing the gruelling trek to Everest Base Camp twice in succession.
Federal MP Dan Repacholi highlighted the achievement of Lake Macquarie resident Katrina Croquett on social media, describing it as an “incredible display of resilience, leadership and determination.”

Croquett trekked more than 260 kilometres through the Himalayas, first completing the journey with her husband Pete and their three sons before turning around and doing it all again while leading a group of Hunter women through her business, Women Embrace Adventure.
The Everest Base Camp trek is considered one of the world’s toughest high-altitude adventures, taking trekkers through rugged mountain terrain and extreme conditions.

Repacholi congratulated Croquett on what he called an “extraordinary achievement”, saying few people could imagine the energy required to complete the demanding journey twice back-to-back.
