One Nation candidate Stuart Bonds says he is calling for a “Castle Law” after thieves broke into his farm last night while his family slept.
Bonds said the intruders stole chainsaws, work tools and his old ute. “I loved that old ute,” he said in a statement, and has offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to the return of the vehicle and tools.
“My family were home at the time,” Bonds added, describing the incident as part of a wider problem. “Crime in this country is out of control. We need ‘CASTLE LAW’ in place to defend our property. If you break into someone’s home, they should have the right to do what they need to to defend their property and their families.”
The candidate also expressed frustration and anger at the thieves, and urged anyone with information to come forward.
