Here’s a rewritten news update:
Volunteers from NSW RFS Benwerrin Brigade are dealing with another setback after the station was allegedly broken into for the second time this year.
According to the brigade, the station was ransacked and equipment was stolen, including items removed from one of the brigade’s fire trucks, impacting its operational capability.
The brigade said equipment intended for recent station upgrades, funded through donations, was also taken.
As a result of the incident, the Benwerrin Brigade was temporarily taken offline while volunteers assessed what had been stolen, cleaned up the station and reset equipment.
The brigade said the break-in not only affects emergency response capabilities but also places additional strain on volunteers and police resources.
Anyone with information about the break and enter is urged to contact the NSW Police Assistance Line on 131 444.
