Labor’s Member for Cessnock Speaks Out on Underfunding and Understaffing in NSW Schools

Labor’s Member for Cessnock, Clayton Barr, has spoken out about the underfunding and understaffing of schools in New South Wales, highlighting the impact it is having on families, children, and society as a whole.

In a video released to the public, Barr stated that “nothing is more important than the education of our children,” and that the future of the country depends on it. However, he expressed his concern that the current liberal national government has left schools without the necessary resources to succeed.

According to Barr, this chronic underfunding and understaffing is affecting “every family, every child, every school worker, and in fact, the future of our society.” He went on to say that Labour has a plan to address these issues and ensure that schools in New South Wales have the support they need to thrive.

Specifically, Barr mentioned that Labour will transfer 10,000 casual teachers to become permanent teachers, allowing them to have job security and plan for the future. Additionally, the party will work to address the problems that have been created by the current government, ensuring that schools in New South Wales can have a fresh start.

Barr’s message to voters was clear – in order to see real change in the education system, they need to vote Labour on Election Day. With the future of the country at stake, he believes that there is no time to waste.

The underfunding and understaffing of schools is a serious issue that affects not only students but also teachers and the broader community. It remains to be seen how successful Labor’s plan will be in addressing these problems, but Barr’s message serves as a reminder that the education of our children is vital for the future of the country.
