Maitland Mayor Phillip Penefold took to Facebook to reveal that the council has given the go-ahead for the establishment of an expansive outdoor roller skating facility adjacent to East Maitland Skate Park, located at the eastern end of Lawes St.
Though funding for the project is yet to be secured, the council has extended its support for potential future funding opportunities. The proposed rink is expected to be more than double the size of the one showcased at the recent Maitland Roller Derby event, much to the delight of roller skating enthusiasts in the area.
