A man has been charged following an alleged attempted armed robbery at a Long Jetty business that left two men injured, including one who was allegedly stabbed in the neck.
Emergency services were called to a business on The Entrance Road about 6.30pm on Saturday after reports of an assault.
Police allege a 30-year-old man entered the premises armed with a knife, threatened a 13-year-old girl and demanded money. The girl was not physically injured during the incident.
Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police District arrived at the scene and found a 55-year-old man suffering a stab wound to the neck, while another 55-year-old man had sustained lacerations to his hand.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the injured men before the first victim was airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition. The second man was transported to Gosford Hospital for further treatment.
The alleged offender was arrested at the scene and taken to Wyong Police Station.
He has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with intent to rob causing wounding or grievous bodily harm.
The 30-year-old was refused bail and is due to appear before Bail Division Court 6 today (Sunday, May 24). Police investigations into the incident continue.
