A 39-year-old Central Coast man has been charged with 29 offences following a joint investigation by NSW Police and the Australian Border Force into the alleged attempted importation of a firearm, antisemitic material and a flag depicting hate symbols.

Strike Force Nuvic was established to investigate the alleged importation attempt, leading detectives from Brisbane Water Police District, assisted by the Northern Region Operational Support Group, Australian Border Force and Fire and Rescue NSW, to execute a search warrant at a Green Point home about 7am on Wednesday.

During the search, police allegedly seized several firearms, ammunition, prohibited weapons, literature, flags depicting hate symbols and other items of interest.

The man was arrested and taken to Gosford Police Station, where he was charged with a range of offences, including multiple counts of possessing prohibited weapons without a permit, possessing unregistered firearms, possessing shortened firearms without authority, failing to safely store firearms, importing prohibited goods, manufacturing a prohibited firearm without a licence, handling explosive precursors without authorisation and failing to maintain approved firearm storage.

Police will allege the man possessed multiple unregistered firearms, including prohibited firearms and pistols.

He was refused bail and was scheduled to appear before Bail Division Court 6 on Thursday, 21 May 2026.

Investigations under Strike Force Nuvic remain ongoing.
