A 33-year-old man is facing a string of serious charges after a dramatic police pursuit on the Central Coast.
It all started around 11:10 AM on Tuesday, 10 December 2024, when officers tried to pull over a vehicle on Showground Road, Gosford. But the driver refused to stop, sparking a high-speed chase.
The situation came to a head when the vehicle slammed into a semi-trailer on the Mooney Mooney Bridge. Thankfully, the truck driver walked away unscathed.
When police searched the driver and his car, they allegedly found suboxone strips, about 1g of heroin, and a prohibited weapon.
The man was arrested on the spot and taken to Gosford Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and mandatory testing.
He was later transferred to Gosford Police Station, where he was hit with multiple charges, including possession of prohibited drugs, reckless driving, driving while disqualified, and dealing with the proceeds of crime.
Refused bail, the man appeared in Gosford Local Court today (Wednesday, 11 December 2024) and will remain in custody until his next court date on Thursday, 16 January 2025.
