A 25-year-old man has been charged following two alleged armed robberies in Raymond Terrace.
Police began investigating the first incident on Tuesday, 23 December 2025, after reports that two men entered a William Street business around 6:40 pm, threatened a 23-year-old employee, and stole cash and cigarettes. The employee was allegedly struck with a metal pole but was not injured.
The second alleged robbery occurred yesterday morning (Thursday, 15 January) at another William Street business. Two men reportedly stole cigarettes and cash before fleeing in a black sedan.
Following inquiries, police arrested a 25-year-old man on Campbell Drive, Raymond Terrace, around 3 pm yesterday. He was charged with robbery while armed with a dangerous weapon and robbery in company. The man was refused bail and is due to appear at Bail Division Court 2 today.
Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
