Breaking News Update:
A man has been charged following the discovery of a woman deceased in the Hunter Valley yesterday evening. Around 6:10 PM, emergency services were called to a property on Coulson Road, Pokolbin, after concerns for the welfare of a 46-year-old woman were raised.
Officers from the Hunter Valley Police District arrived to find the woman with severe injuries. Despite treatment at the scene, she was unable to be revived. A crime scene was established, and detectives launched an investigation under Strike Force Stockport.
A 47-year-old man was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with domestic violence-related murder. He was refused bail and is scheduled to appear at Newcastle Local Court today.
