A man has died following a single-vehicle crash in the state’s north this afternoon.

About 2.45pm on Wednesday 10 June 2026, emergency services were called to the New England Highway near Milperra Drive in Muswellbrook after reports a vehicle had left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

Officers from the Hunter Valley Police District attended the scene and found the driver trapped inside the car.

The driver, a 73-year-old man, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, but was unable to be revived and died at the scene.

Police have established a crime scene, with the NSW Police Crash Investigation Unit now examining the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
