**Man to Face Court for Glenning Valley Car Fire Using Incendiary Device**
Man to Face Court Over Central Coast Car Fire
A 24-year-old man is set to appear in court today (Friday, 16 August 2024) after being charged with damaging property by fire in Glenning Valley.
On Tuesday, 23 July 2024, emergency services were called to Ashwood Close, Glenning Valley, following reports of a vehicle on fire. Fire & Rescue NSW responded swiftly and extinguished the blaze. The car sustained significant damage to its front, though no injuries were reported.
Officers from the Tuggerah Lakes Police District established a crime scene and launched an investigation. During their inquiries, police discovered an incendiary device beneath the vehicle, which was subsequently seized for forensic analysis.
At around 8 am today, police from the Proactive Crime Team Tuggerah Lakes executed a search warrant at a residence on Oxley Road, Killarney Vale. An hour later, the suspect was arrested at The Entrance Police Station.
The man was taken to Wyong Police Station, where he was charged with:
- Damage to property by fire, with an estimated value exceeding $15,000
- Supply of a prohibited drug in a quantity not less than commercial
- Breach of bail conditions
He was refused bail and is scheduled to appear before Wyong Local Court today.
