MAN TREATED FOR SEVERELY INJURED FINGERS NEAR CESSNOCK

At approximately 13:45 today Emergency Services was called to assist with a person who had managed to get their fingers stuck in the winch on their 4wd near Abernethy.


Cessnock District Rescue Squad worked in conjunction with NSW Ambulance to set about freeing the man from the predicament he was in.


The winch rope was cut on the spool to allow the man’s crushed fingers to be released.


He was transported via NSW Ambulance 4wd to hospital for further treatment on his severely damaged fingers.


Cessnock District Rescued Squad remained on scene to recover the man’s vehicle, which was stuck in some pretty deep mud.
