He was last seen yesterday morning (Thursday 4 September) around 8am on Marlborough Street, Rutherford — and hasn’t been heard from since.
Matei is just a boy. He is deeply loved by his family and friends, who are desperate to know he is safe. Every hour that passes without news is heartbreaking.
He is described as:
▪️ Pacific Islander/Maori appearance
▪️ Thin build, 150–160cm tall
▪️ Wearing a school uniform – white shirt, black shorts, and carrying a black Nike backpack
Matei is known to spend time in Maitland, Rutherford, and Greenhills, especially around local shopping centres.
Police hold serious concerns for his welfare due to his age.
