Cessnock’s popular motorcycle tourist route has received a major boost, with more than $1.3 million in safety and road upgrades now complete at Bucketty.
The works included wider shoulders, new guardrails, resurfaced pavement and improved drainage, delivering a smoother and safer ride for motorists.
The project follows an additional $250,000 upgrade at Rhino Corner – the intersection of Glenloona Road and Great North Road in Laguna – where resurfacing and road lifting were carried out to reduce flooding risks.
The improvements mean riders can now enjoy the winding roads and scenery of the Wollombi Valley with greater confidence and comfort.
The upgrades were delivered under the NSW Government’s Towards Zero Safer Roads Program, aimed at reducing road trauma across the state.
