A motorcyclist has died following a two-vehicle crash at Aberglasslyn near Maitland on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Denton Park Drive and Kerry Circuit about 5.30pm on Tuesday, 23 June, following reports of a collision.

Officers attached to the Port Stephens-Hunter Police District arrived to find a motorcycle and a Toyota SUV had been involved in the crash.

The motorcycle rider, a 33-year-old man, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being transported to hospital. Sadly, he died shortly after arriving.

The driver of the Toyota, a 59-year-old woman, was not injured. She was taken to Maitland Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established, and police have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
