Shoppers are being urged to check their fridges after plastic contamination fears sparked a recall of popular beef mince sold across Australia.
Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has issued an urgent recall of Free Country Organic Beef Mince 500g, produced by Auspork Australia, warning it may contain plastic fragments.
The affected packs carry a best-before date of September 28, 2025.
The mince has been sold through independent retailers including IGA in NSW, Queensland, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and the Northern Territory, along with Supabarn supermarkets in the ACT.
Consumers are advised not to eat the product and instead return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
