The historic Oak factory in Muswellbrook is set for a new lease on life, with plans to transform it into a premium distillery in partnership with Sydney Rum Distillery. The site could begin producing high-quality Australian rum and brandy as early as mid-2025.
The project is expected to bring significant economic benefits to the region, creating up to 24 new jobs and boosting tourism and investment in the Hunter.
While there is still work to be done, Muswellbrook Council has welcomed the development as a positive step forward for the local economy.
An industry briefing and site tour are scheduled for March 21. More updates will be shared on the Council’s website and social media channels.
