A police officer from the Northern Region has been charged following an investigation into alleged misuse of the police computer system.

The 31-year-old male constable is accused of accessing restricted police data for non-work-related purposes.

Following extensive inquiries, a Future Court Attendance Notice was issued on Thursday 4 June 2026 for the offence of accessing or modifying restricted computer data.

The officer is scheduled to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court on Wednesday 12 August 2026.

He remains in the workplace while proceedings are ongoing.
