Outrage as Advertiser leaves town. 94.4% of people polled said they should stay

The Cessnock Advertiser is moving their office to Maitland in a bid to reduce costs, but it’s going to be harder to remain relevant in the local area and will mean that their staff will have to work longer hours and travel more to get the stories that matter.

Local residents are outraged that local jobs are once again leaving town, and yet again another empty shop on the struggling Vincent street.

We ran a poll and 94.4 percent of people said they should remain in the local area.

  • 238 of 252 people said the office should stay local
  • 12 people said they prefer My Hunter Valley.

It will be interesting to see how it pans out weather the Cessnock Advertiser will survive the next 12 months.
