A young man is fighting for life after being struck by two vehicles in Sydney’s north west on Sunday evening, sparking a major police investigation.

Emergency services rushed to Walker Street at Quakers Hill about 5.40pm on Sunday, May 17, following reports a pedestrian had been hit by two cars.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 20-year-old man at the scene before he was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

Police were told the man was struck in quick succession by a silver Toyota Kluger and a white Toyota Camry, both travelling northbound along Walker Street.

Investigators allege both vehicles initially left the scene following the collision.

A short time later, police attended a nearby home on Alana Avenue after a 20-year-old man contacted Triple Zero. Officers located the Toyota Camry at the address and established a second crime scene.

The 20-year-old driver was taken to Blacktown Hospital for mandatory testing.

Meanwhile, the 44-year-old driver of the Toyota Kluger later returned to the scene and spoke with police. He was taken to Hawkesbury Hospital for mandatory testing, while the vehicle was seized for forensic examination.

Specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit remain at the scene as inquiries continue.

Police say the pedestrian and both drivers are not believed to be known to one another.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam or mobile phone footage is urged to contact NSW Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
