Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle in Kurri Kurri, Rescue Helicopter Responding

Emergency services are responding to a serious crash involving a vehicle and a seven year old pedestrian in Kurri Kurri this afternoon.

The incident occurred on Lang Street between Heddon Street and Cantwell Street about 3:38pm.

A rescue helicopter has been tasked to the scene alongside emergency crews, with Lang Street currently closed in the eastbound direction.

Heavy traffic conditions are being reported in the area, and motorists are being urged to avoid the scene, use alternative routes and allow extra travel time.

The extent of the pedestrian’s injuries is not yet known.
