A senior constable from the Northern Region has been charged following an investigation into the illegal modification of restricted data within the police system.
The investigation, which began in March 2023, was initiated after reports surfaced that the officer had allegedly made unauthorized changes to sensitive police data. Following months of inquiries, the officer was formally charged on Wednesday, 25 September 2024, with one count of accessing or modifying restricted data.
The officer has been issued a Court Attendance Notice and is scheduled to appear in Coffs Harbour Local Court on Tuesday, 12 November 2024.
The officer’s employment status is currently under review pending the outcome of the case.
