Two men have been charged following an alleged attempted kidnapping of a woman in Sydney’s southwest yesterday.

Police say the incident unfolded about 2.30pm on Tuesday when emergency services were called to Browne Parade, Warwick Farm, following reports of an assault.

Officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command were told a 27-year-old woman had stopped to change a flat tyre when she was allegedly assaulted by a man.

Police allege the man threatened the woman with a knife before attempting to drag her towards a Kia SUV. Members of the public intervened, forcing the man to flee the scene in the vehicle.

The woman suffered facial and leg injuries and was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

A crime scene was established as detectives from Liverpool City Police Area Command launched an investigation.

Following inquiries, detectives — assisted by Auburn Police Area Command — arrested two men later that afternoon. A 22-year-old man was arrested on the banks of Duck Creek at Auburn, while a 24-year-old man was arrested on West Street, Auburn.

Both were taken to Granville Police Station and charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon and aggravated robbery involving corporal violence.

Police will allege the pair had been waiting for the woman in a Liverpool car park before following her vehicle to Warwick Farm.

Both men were refused bail and are due to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Wednesday, 27 May 2026).

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
