One Nation candidate Stuart Bonds has criticised the NSW Government’s environmental policies, claiming that renewable energy development is causing greater damage to the landscape than feral horses in Kosciuszko National Park.

In a media statement, Mr Bonds rejected the view that brumbies are the primary cause of environmental degradation in the alpine region, instead arguing that government policy decisions are driving broader ecological harm.

He also condemned the state’s aerial shooting program targeting feral horses, describing it as inhumane and calling for it to be paused while alternative management strategies are explored in consultation with the community.

Mr Bonds further linked the issue to wider government policy, claiming that the push toward net zero emissions and renewable energy projects is having a negative impact on rural areas and national parks.

The NSW Government maintains that feral horses are a major threat to the fragile alpine ecosystem and has defended aerial culling as a necessary measure to reduce environmental damage and protect biodiversity.
