A quiet morning in the Hunter region erupted into violence after a man was allegedly stabbed following a car crash near Cessnock.
Just after 4:40am today (Thursday, 19 June 2025), a 40-year-old man turned up at Cessnock Police Station with stab wounds, sparking an urgent police investigation.
According to police, the man had been driving a Holden sedan along Cessnock Road, Neath, when it collided with a Subaru. In a terrifying twist, a passenger from the Subaru allegedly stabbed the Holden driver in the leg after the crash.
The injured man was treated by paramedics before being rushed to hospital for further care.
Not long after, police responded to the crash scene where they found the Subaru still at the location. A 34-year-old man was arrested on the spot and taken to John Hunter Hospital under police guard.
