Cessnock District Rescue Squad was called in for an unusual rescue mission after a red-bellied black snake found itself in a sticky predicament. The reptile had become trapped on a glue-based rodent trap—devices designed for catching mice and rats but notorious for ensnaring unintended wildlife.
After a delicate and time-consuming process, rescuers successfully freed the snake, which was released unharmed. Authorities urge residents to consider wildlife-friendly alternatives when choosing pest control methods to prevent similar incidents.
