Two teenage boys are in hospital after a serious e-bike crash at Belmont overnight.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of the Pacific Highway and Evans Street about 8.30pm on Sunday (March 29, 2026), following reports of a collision.
Police from the Lake Macquarie Police District arrived to find an e-bike had slammed into the side of a Holden station wagon, throwing both the rider and passenger onto the road.
The two boys, both aged 14, were treated at the scene by paramedics for leg injuries and abrasions before being rushed to John Hunter Hospital in serious but stable conditions.
The driver of the Holden, a 45-year-old man, was not injured.
Police have launched an investigation into the crash, with the e-bike – destroyed on impact – seized for forensic examination.
