If you’re dreaming of a magical snow-filled weekend getaway to Barrington Tops β think again. Authorities are issuing a strong warning: stay away.
π« Roads Closed
Access from Gloucester is completely shut due to recent wild weather, and the route from Scone is cut off at Tomalla. Landslides, fallen trees, broken bridges, and soaked ground have left the area extremely dangerous and unstable.
π¨ Snow? Probably Not. Rain and Wind? Absolutely.
While snow chasers are holding out hope, forecasts predict heavy rain and howling winds rather than the white stuff. If youβre desperate for snow, the Northern Tablelands are your better bet, with much easier and safer access.
π² More Trees Could Fall
The ground is still drenched, and strong winds this weekend could send more trees crashing down. Emergency services are urging people not to risk it.
π΅ No Reception, No Support
Phone service in the area is patchy at best β if you get stuck, you could be on your own for hours. Unless you’re fully equipped with food, warm clothing, backup water, and a 4G phone that works off-grid, donβt go.
π₯ Bottom Line: Barrington Tops is CLOSED for business this weekend.
Stay safe. Check road updates at LiveTraffic.com, or call Gloucester Visitor Centre on (02) 6538 5252 or Scone Centre on (02) 6545 1526.
Save yourself the disappointment β and the danger.
