Three people have died following a serious crash in Sydney’s south early this morning.

About 12.25am on Saturday (23 May 2026), police attended a home in Gymea Bay after reports of a concern for welfare. Officers from the Sutherland Shire Police Area Command attempted to speak with a 42-year-old man at the address, but he left the scene in a white Audi before police were able to engage him.

Shortly after, emergency services were called to Rocky Point Road in Sans Souci following reports of a two-vehicle crash.

Police from the St George Police Area Command and Sutherland Shire Police Area Command attended and found the Audi had rolled over a concrete barrier before colliding with a blue Toyota sedan.

The 42-year-old male driver of the Audi died at the scene. The driver and passenger of the Toyota also died at the scene and have not yet been formally identified.

A crime scene has been established, with specialist crash investigators examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Traffic diversions remain in place, with motorists urged to avoid the area.
