Three men charged after threatening a man at gun point

Three men have been charged after threatening a man and demanding money in the state’s north yesterday.

About 4pm yesterday (Sunday 12 September 2021), police attended an address on Wood Street, Bonnells Bay, following reports three men had threatened the occupant of the home with a firearm and demanded money.

On arrival, police were told the men had fled the scene in a grey Holden Commodore.

A short time later, officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District and Highway Patrol sighted the vehicle at a service station on Fishing Point Road, where they conducted a vehicle stop and arrested a 22-year-old man.

Following further inquiries, police attended an address on Grand Parade, Bonnells Bay, where they arrested another two 20-year-old men.

Officers established a crime scene, and with the help of the Police Dog Unit, conducted a search of the property and surrounding bushland where they located and seized a backpack containing two firearms.

The three men were taken to Toronto Police Station where they were charged with demand money with menace in company and use offensive weapon with intent to commit indictable offence.

They were refused bail to appear in Toronto Local Court today (Monday 13 September 2021).
